November Net Worth Update
December 1, 2007
The stock market was not kind to my net worth in November, down more than $3,200. My home equity balance increased a little more in November beacuse I paid my December 2nd mortgage payment in November. My liabilities decreased $1,124 primarily because I made my December car payment in November. I hopeto see an increase in December’s numbers.
Fighting my addiction to chocolate
November 29, 2007
I have a hard core addiction to most every kind of chocolate except for chocolate with mint in it or mocha. I am thinking about setting a goal of NOT indulging in any chocolate until after my credit card is paid off. Just typing that made me go over to a coworker’s desk and get a little Hershey bar out of her candy dish!!! I am not sure that I am up for such a lofty goal so close to the holidays. I do know that I don’t like it when my clothes feel too tight though.
Charitable donations
October 11, 2007
This is the time of year I usually make my charitable donations. I regularly donate $1,000 a year to the United Way as well as a few smaller donations to other causes such as public radio, animal organizations and needy children. I always wish I could donate more to the causes that are special to me but I don’t have a lot left over each month so I do what I can. I am fortunate that I can itemize so I can take advantage of the tax write off for charitable donations. I wonder what the average person like me donates to non-religious causes?
Independent Wealth
July 12, 2007
I just found out that I am probably not going to get the promotion I was sort of expecting. This makes me wich that I was independently wealthy and did not have to work. In fact, I feel like buying a lottery ticket right now.
Happy July 4th!
July 4, 2007
It was a good day. I ran the Peachtree Road Race. The largest 10k race in the world with 55,000 runners. The entry fee was $28 and I spent $3.50 on the train fare but I think it was money well spent. I did get a nice stylish t-shirt for my $31.50. I didn’t have to spend any other money for the rest of the day. I definitely like that.
Since today is also known as Independence Day, I will say that my short term plans call for me to be independent of all credit card debt by July 4, 2008.
My first post
June 29, 2007
hey there…recently I have become obsessed with reading the details of other people’s financial lives. I think it gives me hope that my life is not too bad. I plan to give regular updates of my progress in getting out of approximately $6,500 of credit card debt and increasing my net worth with is currently about $90,000. That is the plan. I welcome tips and suggestions that anyone may have.
At the moment I am trying to figure out how to show a graphic of my debt and net worth balances. Ahhh…I could really use some html knowledge right about now.
